Why joints matter most
A sheet is impermeable. A lapped joint is only as good as the tape closing it, which makes joints the weak point by design.
What follows a failure
Moisture into the slab, showing up much later as flooring lifting or persistent damp at the edges.

Tape and adjustment, minutes of work on the day before the pour.
