In short: Pre-pour findings share one quality: a few minutes of work before the trucks arrive, or nothing at all afterwards. These two are the ones we record most in Oran Park.
The termite collar
Every pipe through a slab is a path for termites into the building. Collars close that path. A penetration without one is a permanent entry point in a part of the house nobody can inspect once the slab is poured and the floor is down.
Re-entrant corner reinforcement
Slabs crack at internal corners because that is where stress concentrates. Extra reinforcement at re-entrant corners is specified for exactly this, and omitting it does not show until the slab tells you, some years later, with a crack running diagonally from the corner.
The pour is booked and moving
We also record edge and middle beam reinforcement and vapour barriers needing adjustment here. Everything at this stage is fixable within the hour, which is why pre-pour inspections in Oran Park almost never cause a delay - the items are corrected and the pour proceeds.
